LIQUIDSHIELD DIY - HOW TO APPLY

  • VIDEO HOW TO APPLY
  • Step 1 Preparation
    • Masking

Rinse surface to remove loose dirty and debris.

Mask off surrounding areas, including tires and inner-wheel barrel to avoid overspray. Mask off the valve stems.

    • Surface Preparation

Apply LiquidShield Prep Spray generously over the entire surface. Let the product sit for one minute. Wipe surface dry with a clean microfibre cloth.

    • Common Issues

      • Leftover tire-shine, wax, soap or moisture on the surface prior to spraying will cause lack of adherence, premature failing or fish eyes which results in bubbling and eventual tearing of the LiquidShield film.
  • Step 2 Spray
    • Spraying Instructions

Shake can vigorously for one full minute before spraying.

Do not spray in breezy, humid or sunny conditions. Test spray away from the surface you are spraying before each coat.

Apply a light first coat. Inspect the first coat for surface contamination. Hold can upright and 8 to 12 inches from surface. Moving the can back and forth, overlap each stroke to get an even and wet appearance.

Allow a 10 to 15 minute drying period between coats. Apply 10 wet coats. Avoid excess overlapping and spraying too close to prevent drips and sags.

    • UNMASKING

Carefully remove the masking tape, pulling away from the surface. Remove masking tape when dry. We recommend weakening the film using a spudge tool to eliminate film lifting errors. Allow a 6 to 12 hour final drying period before driving.
